Blackhawk is a well known manufacturer of military and law enforcement equipment. In the military circles which I’m affiliated with the SERPA holsters are considered top of line. This holster is no exception. It adheres to the same strenuous testing and real life applications that make Blackhawk a household name in the world of tactical goods. The Blackhawk SERPA CQC Holster RH BK for a Glock , is considered to be one of the best by many of our armed forces personnel. With this said, I must admit I’ve never used one. However my brother has used this holster in both training and combat situations, and would trust his life to it over and over again. The best feature on this holster has to be the “SERPA” release button. The release is located on the outer side and is easily activated with your trigger finger upon retrieval of your weapon. The SERPA style release is allows the user the ability to retrieve his/her weapon with one fluid hand movement. Once retrieved you are ready to aquire and discharge, due to the placement of this release . The release, while perfectly placed, is not going to release accidentally if the holster bumbs a wall, bush, ground, etc. It is strong and requires a deliberate push from the user, in order to realease the internal retention system. The retention system holds the gun firmly in place without rattling, and little to no movement what so ever. I believe the weapon is retained by the trigger guard, that is how most internal retention systems work. Assthetically this holster is very sleek. It has a matte finish and a very small profile, however I would definitely put this in the tactical category instead of the concealment category.
